FORT WORTH-<\/strong> American Airlines (AA)<\/a> expands European routes for summer 2025. The airline adds five new routes, including Edinburgh (EDI), Athens (ATH), Madrid (MAD), Milan (MXP), and Rome (FCO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This expansion resumes service to Edinburg after a six-year hiatus and strengthens American’s trans-Atlantic presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines New Flights to Europe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Brian Znotins, Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning, emphasizes the airline’s commitment to enhancing European <\/a>travel options. The new routes connect major U.S. hubs to popular European destinations, offering customers increased accessibility and convenience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Philadelphia becomes a key gateway, linking over 80 U.S. destinations to 17 trans-Atlantic routes. The new Edinburgh service provides direct access to Scotland’s cultural and natural attractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines bolsters its Italian offerings with new Miami-Rome and Philadelphia-Milan routes. The airline will serve Rome from six U.S. airports in 2025, more than any competitor, maximizing one-stop itineraries for U.S. travelers to Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charlotte-Athens service expands American’s Greek coverage to four daily flights in 2025, surpassing other U.S. airlines in Greek destination options. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Chicago-Madrid route marks American’s first connection between these hubs, solidifying the airline’s position as the top U.S. carrier serving Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Better Seats on Asian Routes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines boosts capacity on four Asian <\/a>routes for summer 2025. Larger aircraft will operate all flights from Dallas-Fort Worth and Los Angeles to Tokyo, increasing seat availability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This expansion improves access to Tokyo and facilitates connections to over 30 destinations across Japan and East Asia through partner airlines’ codeshare services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
