ISTANBUL-<\/strong> On August 29, 2024, an American Airlines (AA)<\/a> flight from New York (JFK) to Delhi (DEL) made an emergency landing at Istanbul (IST), Turkey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight AA292 operated using Boeing 777-300ER, registered as N728AN diverted to Istanbul due to a medical emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines Emergency Landing<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to FlightRadar24, an American Airlines flight took off from New York JFK at 2:42 AM UTC. After being airborne for almost 10 hours, the flight diverted to Istanbul and landed safely at around 1:00 PM UTC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hava Sosyal Medya, the Turkish-based media that covers aviation-related updates shared the details. They reported that AA292 <\/strong>flight after making an emergency landing in Istanbul, the ill passenger was taken to hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to this delay, Flight crew duty time exceeded the limits. Following this American Airlines had no scheduled flights to Istanbul, and there were no backup flight crews. Therefore, the passengers and crew were placed in a hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight took off the next day at around 2:13 PM UTC and was airborne at the time of publication of this post. It is expected to land at night in Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft involved in the incident is a Boeing 777-300ER, registered as N728AN. It is a 10.5-year-old aircraft and is powered by GE engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, this is not the first time an American Airlines New York-Delhi flight has been diverted. Earlier on July 20, 2024, Delhi to New York was diverted to London Heathrow (LHR)<\/a> due to technical issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This incident was exactly the same as what occurred on July 15, 2024. The aircraft flying over the North Sea faced some technical issues and they diverted to LHR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
