GURUGRAM-<\/strong> IndiGo (6E)<\/a>, India’s largest carrier in terms of passenger carried and fleet size, is set to commence flight operations between Delhi International Airport (DEL) <\/a>and Manas International Airport in Bishkek (FRU), Kyrgyzstan, Central Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This development was announced during a meeting between Rajan Malhotra, IndiGo’s Vice President for Airline Partnerships and Aeropolitical Affairs, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo New Flights to Bishkek<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Government of India has designated IndiGo as the official carrier for this route. The airline has secured permission to operate daily flights, offering seven weekly connections between the two capitals, 24.kg<\/a><\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ambassador Askar Beshimov pledged full support to facilitate the airline’s operations. He highlighted a key travel benefit for Indian citizens, noting that those holding long-term multiple visas for the USA, UK, or Schengen countries can enter Kyrgyzstan visa-free for up to 7 days. This privilege includes the right to re-enter after a 21-day interval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussion also led to an agreement between IndiGo and Kyrgyzstan to collaborate in promoting tourism between the two nations. This partnership aims to boost bilateral travel and cultural exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from this, IndiGo is also adding new flights or strengthening the existing routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flights to Singapore, Kuwait, and Sri Lanka<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo is expanding its international network by launching new routes and increasing frequencies to Singapore<\/a>, Kuwait, and Sri Lanka from October 2024. The airline will introduce a daily direct flight from Coimbatore to Singapore starting October 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight frequencies will increase from Chennai to Singapore and Colombo beginning October 15, and from Mumbai to Kuwait from October 29. This expansion aims to meet the rising demand for business, luxury, and leisure travel during the festive and holiday seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo<\/strong>, announced that IndiGo will have increased connectivity to Singapore (72 weekly flights from 9 Indian cities), Colombo (37 weekly flights from 4 Indian cities), and Kuwait (34 weekly flights from 5 Indian cities). These expansions aim to strengthen economic and cultural ties, boosting trade and tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo also added new international flights from Mangaluru (IXE), Coimbatore (CJB), and Tiruchirappalli (TRZ) to Abu Dhabi (AUH)<\/a> this month. With this, IndiGo operates 9 weekly non-stop flights to Abu Dhabi (AUH) from 13 Indian cities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of August 2024, IndiGo serves 88 Domestic and 33 International destinations, in a total of 121 destinations. Bishkek will be the 34th International if officially announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, the second largest low-cost carrier in the world in terms of valuation operates a fleet of 393 aircraft of which 310 are in operation, while the remaining are grounded due to Pratt and Whitney engine issues and scheduled maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
