FLORIDA-<\/strong> Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines (DL) <\/a>expands its network with two new routes to Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) in Bentonville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will launch daily service from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) to XNA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta New Routes from XNA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Detroit-Bentonville route commences on November 11, 2024, while the Salt Lake City-Bentonville service begins on February 13, 2025, reported TPG<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Connection’s fellow carrier will operate these routes, with Endeavor Air flying a 76-seat Bombardier CRJ-900 on the DTW-XNA route and SkyWest Airlines deploying a 70-seat Embraer 175 regional jet on the SLC-XNA route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta aims to enhance connectivity and options for customers traveling to and from Bentonville’s growing business market through its Detroit and Salt Lake City hubs. This strategic move targets business travelers, despite overall business travel not yet recovering to pre-pandemic levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Air Lines expands its network to Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) in Bentonville, targeting business travelers. The airline launches daily flights from Detroit (DTW) and Salt Lake City (SLC) hubs to XNA, starting November 11, 2024, and February 13, 2025, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bentonville, home to Walmart’s global headquarters, attracts numerous business travelers, particularly consultants. The nearby city of Fayetteville, hosting the University of Arkansas, further enhances the region’s appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Connection affiliates will operate these routes. Endeavor Air (9E) will fly a 76-seat Bombardier CRJ-900 on the DTW-XNA route, while SkyWest Airlines (OO) will use a 70-seat Embraer 175 for the SLC-XNA service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These routes mark a resumption of service for Delta, which last operated Detroit-Bentonville flights in June 2014 and Salt Lake City-Bentonville flights in June 2015. Delta already serves Bentonville from Atlanta, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and New York hubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recovering Destination<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Glen Hauenstein, Delta’s president, expressed optimism about business travel growth, citing a recent corporate survey indicating that 90% of companies plan to maintain or increase travel volumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite business travel not fully recovering to pre-pandemic levels, Delta pursues available demand pockets, positioning itself as “the business carrier of choice.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Competitors American Airlines (AA) <\/a>and United Airlines (UA)<\/a> also serve Bentonville. American Airlines, the largest carrier at XNA, operates from multiple hubs, while United connects Bentonville to its Chicago, Denver, and Houston hubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
