BOSTON-<\/strong> Delta Air Lines (DL)<\/a> will introduce a daily nonstop flight between San Antonio and Boston starting November 11, San Antonio airport officials announced Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new service fills the gap left by JetBlue’s (B6) <\/a>unexpected withdrawal from San Antonio International Airport (SAT) in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Boston to San Antonio Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Delta flight will depart Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)<\/a> at 9:15 a.m. and leave SAT at 2 p.m. Ticket sales begin Saturday for the new route, which marks Delta’s eighth destination from SAT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta’s decision to expand its Boston hub network coverage to include 50 top cities, offering the sole nonstop connection between these major metropolitan areas. The airline has seen a 20% increase in total departing seats from SAT compared to pre-pandemic levels, San Antonio Report added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus Saenz, director of airports for San Antonio’s aviation department, expressed surprise at JetBlue’s departure after three years of service. JetBlue had received marketing incentives and fee waivers during its initial two years of operation at SAT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayor Ron Nirenberg praised Delta’s move, stating, “Delta’s timely decision to serve this route demonstrates the strong demand between San Antonio and Boston and that it warrants nonstop service on a legacy carrier.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saenz highlighted the benefits for local industries, saying, “This is fantastic news for San Antonians, especially our business travelers from our bioscience, technology, and financial industries.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
