ISTANBUL-<\/strong> Flag carrier of Turkish Airlines (TK)<\/a> flight from Istanbul (IST) to Montreal (YUL) makes emergency landing at Vienna (VIE) amid smoke reported in the galley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkish Airlines stated that the galley issue was quickly fixed and the aircraft landed safely in Vienna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkish Airlines Reports Smoke<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to Flight Radar 24, Turkish Airlines flight TK35 took off from Istanbul at 12:56 PM UTC. After being airborne for almost two hours and 30 mins, the cabin crew reported that smoke was coming off from one of its galleys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following this, the flight crew contacted the ATC and at that point, it just entered Poland airspace. However, they decided to divert to Vienna as the airline already operates multiple flights to VIE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight landed safely in Vienna at 3:14 PM UTC. A ground observer noted that the aircraft dumped fuel near Vienna before landing, reported Aviation Herald<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight was operated by Boeing 777-300ER<\/a>, registered as TC-JJM. As per Planespotters.net, the aircraft is 13.4 years old and is powered by GE90 engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Boeing 777-300 remained in Vienna for approximately 17 hours. After this extended stay, it flew back to Istanbul and resumed normal service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similar Incident<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Last month, A United Airlines Boeing 777 made an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) due to smoke in the flight deck. The flight, bound for Honolulu (HNL), turned back shortly after takeoff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plane left LAX at 08:35 local time on Wednesday, June 21st, aiming to reach Honolulu by 11:05. About 30 minutes into the flight, crew members detected smoke in the cockpit and parts of the cabin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The captain immediately called for an emergency landing. The aircraft circled over Los Angeles briefly before touching down at LAX, just 45 minutes after its initial departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los Angeles City Fire Department met the plane on the apron to assist. All 360 passengers and 10 crew members exited the aircraft safely with no reported injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
