FARNBOROUGH, UK-<\/strong> GE Aerospace announced that American Airlines (AA) <\/a>has finalized an order for 180 CF34-8E engines, plus spares, to power its fleet of 90 new Embraer 175 regional jets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Globally, over 7,500 CF34 engines are in service with more than 900 regional and business jet operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines E175 Engine Orders<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The CF34-8E has logged over 40 million flight hours and 29 million cycles since it entered service with the Embraer E170\/175 in 2004. The CF34 engine line, including -3, -8, and -10 models, powers more than 2,500 regional commercial aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russell Stokes, President and CEO of GE Aerospace’s Commercial Engines and Services, stated, “The CF34 engine has a proven track record with American Airlines, and we appreciate their continued trust. This order, along with the recent CFM deals, underscores our commitment to delivering industry-leading products and services.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines CFO Devon May commented, “The reliability and performance of the CF34 engine have been crucial to our success. We look forward to strengthening our partnership with GE Aerospace as we continue to modernize and enhance our domestic and regional fleet.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GE Aerospace has delivered nearly 11,000 CF34 engines, which are known for their exceptional reliability and durability, boasting a dispatch reliability rate of 99.97% over 12 months. All CF34 engines, like all GE Aerospace engines, are compatible with approved SAF fuel blends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

British and Japan Chose GEnX for 787s<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After Japan Airlines (JL) <\/a>agreed with Boeing for up to 20 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, GE Aerospace announced an order from the airline for GEnx-1B engines to power these new planes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, GE Aerospace revealed that International Airlines Group (IAG) has committed to purchasing GEnx engines for six new 787 Dreamliners for British Airways (BA)<\/a>, marking the first time this engine will join their fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GEnx-1B powers two out of every three 787 aircraft in service and offers a 1.4% fuel burn savings on typical 787 missions compared to its competitors. Additionally, like all GE Aerospace engines, the GEnx can run on approved Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
