Farnborough-<\/strong> Airbus secures major orders from Japan Airlines and Virgin Atlantic. Japan Airlines (JL)<\/a> orders 20 A350-900 widebodies and 11 A321neo single-aisle planes. Virgin Atlantic (VS)<\/a> adds 7 A330neo aircraft to its fleet, bringing its total A330neo commitment to 19 planes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These new orders boost Airbus’s position in the commercial aviation market. Both airlines aim to improve their operations with these new, efficient aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Japan Airlines Airbus Order<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Japan Airlines order announced at Farnborough Air Show 2024. Yukio Nakagawa, Japan Airlines’ Senior VP of Procurement, and Christian Scherer, Airbus Commercial Aircraft<\/a> CEO, signed the deal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Japan Airlines will use A350-900s<\/a> for international routes and A321neos<\/a> for domestic flights. Japan Airlines’ total A350 orders reached 52, with 18 already in use. This marks Japan Airlines’ first Airbus single-aisle plane order. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A350 leads the 300-410 seater category with efficient design. By June 2024, A350 Family secured over 1,300 orders from 60 global customers. A321neo offers superior range and performance in the A320neo Family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A321neo reduces noise by 50% and cuts fuel use and CO\u2082 emissions by 20%. Over 6,400 A321neos were ordered by 90+ customers worldwide. Airbus aircraft currently operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virgin Atlantic (VS) revealed its order on their A330neo ‘Ruby Rebel’ at Farnborough Airshow 2024. The plane’s registration, GB-VSRB, honors founder Sir Richard Branson. This announcement coincides with Virgin Atlantic’s 40th anniversary celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A330neo features an Airspace cabin for improved comfort and enhanced passenger experience. Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines power A330-900, enabling a 7,200 nm range. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A330 Family secured 1,798 orders from 130+ customers by June 2024. A330neo gained 319 orders from 30 customers. Airbus aircraft currently operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel<\/a> (SAF). Airbus targets 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel capability by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
