They’ve got the okay from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to run some international flights. Neeleman thinks they’ll be all set by late summer. This means they can start selling tickets for winter trips to new places outside the US.

The airline wants to fly to Latin America and the Caribbean first. Later, they plan to go to Europe and Hawaii. Breeze calls itself “premium leisure” and flies to 56 cities now, FlightGlobal reported.

They’re looking at starting flights to the Caribbean and Europe from Providence, Rhode Island. This city is near New York and Boston. They also want to fly to Ireland and the UK from other East Coast cities.

By the end of 2024, Breeze will have about 45 planes. Most will be A220s, but they’ll also have some Embraer E190s. These smaller planes will mostly be used for sports team flights. The A220 can reach many places in Europe, like Iceland, Ireland, England, Scotland, and the Netherlands.

Breeze started flying in May 2021. They made their first profit in March and April of the following year. Passengers seem to like their three types of seats: Nice, Nicer, and Nicest. Neeleman says Breeze isn’t just a cheap airline. They make good money from extra services and have happy customers. Usually, airlines don’t do well in both areas.

Photo: Hawaiian Airlines Airbus A330-200; N380HA@HNL;15.09.2019 | Flickr

Hawaii Flights

Neeleman’s history in the airline industry spans decades. His innovative approaches have shaped multiple successful airlines. This background gives Breeze a strong foundation for entering the Hawaiian market.

The airline hasn’t announced specific routes or start dates for Hawaii flights. However, they’re considering unique options that could set them apart from competitors. John Wayne Airport in Orange County and San Bernardino Airport stand out as potential starting points.

These airports currently lack direct flights to Hawaii. Orange County previously offered such routes, suggesting potential demand. Choosing these locations could give Breeze an edge in the market.

Major hubs like Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) already offer numerous Hawaii flights. These airports often face congestion and crowds. Breeze’s strategy of using less busy airports could appeal to travelers seeking convenience.

Direct flights from Orange County or San Bernardino to Hawaii would offer several benefits. Passengers could avoid the hassle of larger airports. They might enjoy shorter security lines and easier parking. These factors could make Breeze’s potential Hawaii routes very attractive.

The potential for new Hawaii routes highlights the ongoing demand for air travel to the islands. Tourism remains a crucial part of Hawaii’s economy. New flight options could boost visitor numbers and support local businesses.

Do you think this is the right move for a regional carrier, let us know your thoughts in the comments on our social media pages, and do follow us for regular insights.

Join our Telegram Group for the Latest Aviation Updates.
