ATLANTA-<\/strong> Delta Air Lines (DL)<\/a> is making significant adjustments to its transatlantic flight schedule for the upcoming summer season, revealing a strategic redistribution of capacity across its European network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the Atanta-based carrier is boosting frequencies on several popular routes, some previously operated services are notably absent from the summer 2025 lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Transatlantic Routes for Summer 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Starting May 22, 2025, Delta will significantly boost its service between Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL)<\/a> and Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE). The airline plans to increase flights from 10 to 14 times weekly, providing travelers with twice-daily options to the iconic Italian city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zurich-bound passengers from Atlanta will also benefit from enhanced connectivity. Beginning May 8, 2025, Delta will operate daily flights to Zurich Airport (ZRH)<\/a>, up from the current four-times-weekly schedule. This increase will offer business and leisure travelers more flexibility when planning trips to Switzerland’s largest city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Midwest travelers haven’t been forgotten in Delta’s expansion plans. The carrier is set to bolster its Detroit (DTW)<\/a> to Munich (MUC) route, moving from four weekly flights to a daily service starting March 29, 2025. This enhancement will provide improved access to Bavaria’s capital and a key business hub in Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta serves most of its transatlantic flights using the old Boeing 767 or Airbus A330 fleet. This transatlantic route takes around seven to nine hours of flight time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These frequency increases represent year-over-year growth, reflecting Delta’s confidence in the continued recovery and expansion of international travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The expanded services are expected to be particularly attractive to both leisure travelers planning summer vacations and business travelers requiring more flexible schedules. Additionally, the increased frequencies will provide better connections for passengers traveling beyond these European gateways to other destinations within the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some Cancellations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ishrion Aviation <\/em>reported that several routes operated during the summer of 2024 are currently missing from next year’s schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the routes currently not appearing in Delta’s summer 2025 plans are the New York (JFK) <\/a>to Shannon (SNN) service, which provides a direct link to Ireland’s west coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the second daily flights from JFK to Barcelona (BCN) and from Detroit to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) <\/a>are not currently listed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps most notably, the Los Angeles (LAX) to London Heathrow (LHR) route, which has been a staple of Delta’s long-haul offerings, is absent from the upcoming summer schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
