PESHAWAR-<\/strong> The Flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, Saudia Airlines (SV)<\/a> flight with A330 from Riyadh (RUH) made a dramatic emergency landing at Bacha Khan Airport (PEW) in Peshawar, Pakistan on Thursday morning (July 11, 2024) after one of its landing gears caught fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to this incident, ten passengers sustained minor injuries as the aircraft made a rough landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saudia A330 Catches Fire in Pakistan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Saudi Airlines Flight SV792<\/strong>, carrying around 276 passengers from Riyadh <\/a>to Peshawar, encountered trouble during its descent. As the plane aligned with the runway for landing, the Air Tower Control (ATC) spotted sparks coming from the landing gear and immediately alerted the pilot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acting swiftly, the flight crew managed to land the aircraft safely despite the dangerous situation. Fire tenders rushed to the scene and quickly brought the blaze under control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All 276 passengers and 21 crew members evacuated the plane using emergency slides. A spokesperson for the airline confirmed that everyone on board was safely removed from the aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft involved in the incident is Saudia’s Airbus <\/a>A330-300, registered as HZ-AQ28. Further, the aircraft is 7.1 years old and is powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jeddah-based carrier operates two weekly scheduled flights between Riyadh and Peshawar. The flight departs RUH at 4:00 AM and arrives at PEW after being airborne for around four hours at 10:15 AM. All mentioned times are local.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
