PARIS-<\/strong> Delta Air Lines (DL)<\/a> flight from John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK), New York<\/a> to Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), Paris declared an emergency just before landing at Paris possibly due to cabin pressure loss\/depressurization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred today (July 8, 2024) onboard Delta flight DL266 <\/strong>operated by Boeing 767.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Emergency Landing at Paris<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to FlightRadar24 data, Delta flight DL266 took off from New York at 12:47 PM UTC. After being airborne for almost six hours and crossing the Atlantic Ocean, the flight crew declared an emergency squawk 7700.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, by looking at the flight data, it looks like the aircraft lost its cabin pressurization. Following this, the pilot suddenly brought the aircraft from 34,000 feet to under 10,000 as per the standard procedure but in over 11 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When this occurred, the aircraft was over the English Channel and was about to fly over France territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luckily, the flight made a safe landing at Paris CDG<\/a> and was one of the most tracked flights for a few minutes on FlightRadar24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Flight DL266 was operated by Boeing 767-400, registered as N829MH. Further, it is a 23.9-year-old aircraft and is powered by GE CF6 engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, Passengers on a Korean Air (KE)<\/a> Boeing 737 MAX 8 experienced severe nosebleeds and ear pain due to pressurization problems about 50 minutes after departing from Seoul Incheon Airport (ICN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 4-year-old Boeing 737 MAX 8, registered as HL8352, was en route to Taichung (RMQ), Taiwan, when it entered a holding pattern over Jeju Island, South Korea, as pilots tried to resolve the issue. Eventually, the aircraft returned to Seoul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sudden drop in cabin pressure caused nosebleeds in at least two passengers, severe ear pain in 15 others, and required emergency medical attention for one person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A passenger on flight KE189 recorded video footage showing everyone using the automatically deployed oxygen masks. The pilots rapidly descended from over 30,000 feet to 8,000 feet, a drop of over 25,000 feet in 12-15 minutes, before safely returning to Seoul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
