On March 2024, A United Airlines flight lost a tire while taking off from San Francisco International Airport (SFO), causing damage to several cars in a parking lot before safely landing at Los Angeles International Airport, the agency reported.

The plane lost a portion of its landing gear tire during takeoff around 11:35 a.m. on Thursday as it departed for Osaka, Japan, according to San Francisco airport spokesperson Doug Yakel. United Airlines confirmed that one tire was lost after takeoff.

The tire debris landed in an employee parking lot at the airport, damaging several cars, but no injuries were reported, Yakel said.

United Flight 35, carrying 249 passengers and crew, was diverted to Los Angeles, landing shortly after 1:20 p.m. A new aircraft was arranged for the affected passengers.

Last month, United flight UA325 from Bradley (BDL) to Denver (DEN) returned as some part of the aircraft fell off after takeoff.

Join us on Telegram Group for the Latest Aviation Updates.
