GUANGZHOU-<\/strong> China Southern Airlines (MU)<\/a> inaugurates new flights between Guangzhou Airport (CAN) and London Gatwick (LGW)<\/a> on June 20, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chinese carrier deployed a 5.6-year-old Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, registered as B-1168, to serve the route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China Southern Guangzhou to Gatwick Flight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Guangzhou Baiyun based carrier will operate 3x weekly flights between United Kingdom’s second busiest airport and China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“There is a growing economic and cultural exchange between China<\/a> and the UK, with an increasing number of passengers traveling between the countries,” says Ke Chen, general manager of China Southern’s London office. “We decided to open this new flight to meet that demand.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chen also mentions that the new route provides more options for travelers heading to the Asia Pacific region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Passengers from the UK can take this flight and transfer to Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, even Japan and South Korea. It fully meets the needs of passengers in both China and the UK.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gatwick aims to become the top choice for visitors from Asia with the addition of new flights. The airport has also submitted plans to build a second runway, which could double passenger numbers to around 75 million a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Gatwick offers extensive connectivity across Europe, especially to popular destinations like Italy and France for Chinese tourists,” says David Bell, Senior Airline Business Development Manager at London Gatwick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our connectivity to these markets allows passengers to enjoy everything London, Southeast England, and the rest of Europe have to offer,” added David.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from this, Singapore Airlines (SQ)<\/a> has inaugurated new flights from Singapore (SIN) to London Gatwick with Airbus A350.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
