DOHA-<\/strong> An American entrepreneur recounted the story of his younger sister, who secured a business class ticket out of Doha after encountering the CEO of Qatar Airways (QR) <\/a>at the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a post on the social media platform X, Paul-Bernard Jaroslawski explained that his sister was trying to fly from Doha (DOH)<\/a>, Qatar to the United States with a standby ticket, but had been unsuccessful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A standby ticket allows a traveler to wait at the airport and board a flight if a seat is available after all confirmed passengers have boarded but does not guarantee a specific seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jaroslawski mentioned that despite available seats on a flight from Doha to Chicago (ORD)<\/a>, the airline refused to accommodate more passengers due to weight management issues, leaving his sister unable to depart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A similar situation occurred when Jaroslawski\u2019s unnamed sister attempted to board a flight to Washington DC<\/a>. “At the gate for the flight to DC, the Qatar Airways employees told her the same thing: they weren’t allowing any more passengers due to weight management,” wrote the American founder of FreightCaviar on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
