The initial assembly line can produce 33 Overture aircraft annually, valued at over $6 billion. Boom plans to add another assembly line, doubling the production to 66 supersonic airliners per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Overture Superfactory campus will also feature a delivery center where airlines such as <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=United\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">United Airlines (UA)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=American+Airlines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American Airlines (AA)<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Japan+Airlines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Japan Airlines (JL)<\/a> will receive their supersonic aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNorth Carolina, the state that was first in flight, is thrilled with Boom\u2019s progress toward delivering the world\u2019s first sustainable supersonic airliner,\u201d said Governor Roy Cooper. \u201cOur state offers the skilled workforce, infrastructure, and ideal location to help Boom revolutionize air travel.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Economists in North Carolina estimate that the complete Boom manufacturing program will boost the state\u2019s economy by at least <strong>$32.3 billion over 20 years<\/strong>, with the Superfactory directly creating over 2,400 jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Piedmont Triad region is an economic powerhouse, cementing North Carolina\u2019s status as the top state for business. In partnership with tooling supplier Advanced Integration Technology (AIT), Boom will start procuring and installing tooling in the Superfactory, beginning with an advanced test cell unit. This test cell, the first major piece of equipment to be installed, will be used to develop manufacturing processes, optimize assembly line flow, and prepare staff for Overture production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to Boom\u2019s success in its mission to bring back commercial supersonic flight and help the U.S. maintain its leadership in aviation innovation,\u201d said Paul Mengert, Chair of the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority. \u201cWe\u2019re grateful for our partnership with the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, elected leaders, and the local community who will continue to give Boom a warm welcome to the Triad.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today\u2019s construction completion event follows the inaugural flight of XB-1, the supersonic demonstrator aircraft for Overture, marking a major milestone toward the return of supersonic air travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>XB-1 has received a first-of-its-kind Special Flight Authorization (SFA) to exceed Mach 1 from the <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=FAA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)<\/a>.
