BENGALURU-<\/strong> Tata Group-owned Air India Express (IX) <\/a>is gearing up to launch its first international flight from Bengaluru (BLR) <\/a>to Abu Dhabi (AUH).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, Air India recently announced the launch of a new flight between Bengaluru and London Gatwick (LGW) <\/a>on August 18, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Express Bengaluru<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We visited the AIX website to see whether the booking started or not and it’s live on the website. Air India Express will operate the BLR-AUH-BLR flight from July 23, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the AIX booking page, the airline will operate 4X weekly flights between two cities. They will fly on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. These are some of the busiest days for travel when catering to leisure travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Express flight IX811<\/strong> will take from Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru at 15:25<\/strong> and arrive at Zayed International Airport, Abu Dhabi at 18:00<\/strong>. All times are local.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently, the return flight IX812 will depart from AUH at 18:55<\/strong> and will arrive at midnight in BLR at 12:40 AM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indian low-cost carrier plans to deploy Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft<\/a> to serve the four hours of flight time and 1,701 miles (2,737 kilometers) of distance between BLR and AUH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fares for one-way from BLR to AUH start at 16,712 RS (based on the results we found for July 23, 2024). For Xpress Flex, the airline charges 1,050 INR extra, where you get 30 Kg extra on the check-in bag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Group recently launched a fare lock feature which is available on the AIX website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Competition from Etihad<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Currently, Air India Express operates flights to 13 domestic destinations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, UAE’s second flag carrier, Etihad Airways (EY)<\/a> operates 2X daily flights, so in total 14X weekly flights. Furthermore, the airline is planning to enhance the network with additional flights and will reach up to 18X weekly flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abu-Dhabi-based airline deploys Airbus A321 and Boeing 787 Dreamliners<\/a> amid strong demand on this route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier we reported that AIX is adding new flights from Kochi to Kuwait and Chennai to Damman <\/a>from this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the AIX will enhance its Mangaluru (IXE) to AUH flight from July 22, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
