SEATTLE-<\/strong> In response to rising travel demand, Alaska Airlines (AS) <\/a>is introducing its largest summer schedule in the company\u2019s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This includes new nonstop routes and international destinations that have never been served before during the busiest months of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaska Airlines Summer Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The airline is also increasing the number of daily flights across its network for added convenience, flying to popular destinations based on guest feedback. Additionally, Alaska Airlines is unveiling innovative bag drop stations in some of its hubs and continues to operate an industry-leading safe operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrew Harrison, chief commercial officer at Alaska Airlines<\/strong> stated,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As best-in-class operators, our top priority is consistently delivering on our promise to guests to take them where they\u2019re going safely and on time \u2013 all while showing them the care for which we\u2019re known

This summer, we\u2019re prepared to do more flying and welcome more guests to experience not only a safe operation, but also a premium experience. We\u2019ve been hard at work on elevating all aspects of the travel journey for our guests from start to finish.\u201d<\/p>Andrew Harrison, chief commercial officer at Alaska Airlines<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

During this year\u2019s peak summer months (June, July, and August), Alaska Airlines has added nearly one million seats compared to last year. These additional seats will enable more guests to attend barbecues, baseball games, and beach outings than ever before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The busiest travel days are anticipated to be around Independence Day, with almost 160,000 guest boardings each day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests are eager to travel this year. Over Memorial Day weekend, Alaska Airlines connected more than 500,000 guests to their destinations, a 6% increase compared to last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outside of hub cities, which are experiencing significant growth, guests are particularly interested in exploring new places. There has been substantial interest in Guatemala City, where travelers can marvel at the pyramids of Tikal National Park or explore the shores of Lake Atitl\u00e1n. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Parks have also been especially popular, prompting Alaska Airlines to add 16% more flights to Jackson Hole, Wyoming\u2014the gateway to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, nonstop service from New York (JFK) and San Diego (SAN) to Anchorage (ANC) has been launched, connecting adventure seekers with the grandeur of Alaska, the airline’s namesake state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Routes and Destinations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Alaska Airlines has increased flights by nearly 10% to popular destinations<\/strong>, covering routes from Alaska to Zihuatanejo for comprehensive summer travel options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This summer, the airline is expanding its reach to the east with new nonstop routes connecting Anchorage to New York<\/a>, Portland to Nashville, and San Diego to both Atlanta and Anchorage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time, Alaska Airlines is offering flights to new international destinations<\/strong>, including Guatemala City, The Bahamas, and Toronto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The summer schedules at many hubs have also grown significantly: 16% more flights in Portland, 10% more in Seattle, 23% more in San Diego, and 13% more in Anchorage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, starting this fall, departures from Los Angeles (LAX)<\/a> will increase by 33%, providing guests with additional opportunities to enjoy the California sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaska Airlines continues to offer more flights to Mexico from the West Coast than any other U.S. airline, with service to Cancun, Guadalajara, Los Cabos, Loreto, Manzanillo, Mazatl\u00e1n, Puerto Vallarta, and Ixtapa\/Zihuatanejo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enhancing Experience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Later this month, Alaska Airlines will move to the San Francisco International Airport Harvey Milk Terminal 1, marking a significant investment in modernizing infrastructure for a seamless travel experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In July, the new 11,000-square-foot Lounge at SFO T1 will open, featuring 55% more seating, signature loungers, an expanded menu with fresh ingredients, a barista-staffed coffee bar, and complimentary West Coast wine, spirits, and craft brews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Anchorage, the popular Lounge is undergoing renovations and upgrades to provide more space, seating, and thoughtful touches. At Portland International Airport, Alaska Airlines will move into a brand new, brighter, and bolder lobby in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, by the end of July, the complete overhaul of the gates at Terminal 6 of Los Angeles International Airport, including new carpet, lighting, seating with power outlets, and signage, will be completed, where Alaska Airlines is the primary carrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Premium Offerings<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Alaska Airlines is enhancing its in-flight culinary offerings by expanding pre-order for-purchase hot meal options to Premium Class and Main Cabin on flights 1,100 miles or more. Guests can explore the premium onboard menu here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a token of appreciation, Alaska Airlines has introduced the “Upgrade Unlocked” program, where each day this summer, at least one Main Cabin passenger will be surprised with a free upgrade to Premium Class. More details are available here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those eager to secure an upgrade, Alaska Airlines now allows passengers to pay for an upgrade to First or Premium Class up to 30 minutes before departure via the Manage Trip feature on the Alaska Airlines website or mobile app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frequent flyers can sign up for the new subscription service, Alaska Access, to receive a monthly one-time-use voucher for high-speed Wi-Fi and early access to major fare sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
