KINSHASA-<\/strong> Flag carrier Qatar Airways (QR)<\/a> has launched a new gateway in Africa, connecting the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) with Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inaugural flight from Doha (DOH) <\/a>to Kinshasa (FIH) landed at N\u2019djili International Airport on Saturday, 1 June 2024, increasing the airline’s total number of African destinations to 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qatar Airways Kinshasa Flight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This new route will link Kinshasa to the world through Qatar Airways\u2019 Doha hub, Hamad International Airport, which was named the \u2018World\u2019s Best Airport\u2019 by Skytrax <\/a>in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, this strategic expansion will enhance air connectivity across Africa, fostering stronger economic and business opportunities as well as cultural ties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new service will include four weekly flights, increasing capacity to Angola by raising the number of flights to Luanda from one to four.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The addition of Kinshasa complements the airline’s over 170 weekly flights across Africa, underscoring Qatar Airways’ dedication to improving connectivity throughout the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since December 2020, Qatar Airways has experienced strong market growth, with nine new destinations added in Africa: Abidjan, Abuja, Accra, Kinshasa, Harare, Kano, Luanda, Lusaka, and Port Harcourt. Additionally, services to Cairo and Alexandria have been resumed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong Connectivity to Africa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Qatar Airways has optimized its schedules in most African markets over the past 12 months to ensure convenient connectivity to China<\/a>. This includes Luanda and now Kinshasa with the new flight, which seamlessly connects with key markets such as Belgium, France, Portugal, and the Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kinshasa, the capital of the DRC, is the third-largest city in Africa, following Cairo and Lagos. Serving as the economic hub of the country, Kinshasa offers various opportunities for investment and tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vibrant city, located along the Congo River, is renowned for its cultural diversity, lively music scene, and pristine nature, attracting both urban explorers and nature enthusiasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
