EDINBURG-<\/strong> This morning, Edinburgh Airport (EDI) <\/a>was swarmed with emergency services after a Virgin Atlantic (VS)<\/a> flight made an emergency landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft, departing from Orlando (MCO), Florida<\/a>, experienced issues with its front nose gear, which burst upon departure and needed assistance during landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virgin Atlantic Orlando-Edinburg Flight Emergency<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Concerns arose due to low pressure in the front landing tire, raising fears of a runway incident, with over 3,000 people monitoring the landing on FlightRadar24.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plane has since landed safely, and emergency <\/a>vehicles are attending to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Virgin Atlantic spokesperson stated: “As a precaution, we requested engineers to meet flight VS226 from Orlando to Edinburgh upon landing due to low nose gear tire pressure. The safety of our customers and crew is always our top priority, and the aircraft landed normally.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft involved in the incident is Airbus A350-1000<\/a>, registered as G-VNVR<\/strong>, and the spokesperson confirmed that passengers and crew disembarked as usual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight Affected at Edinburg<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Direct flights to and from Orlando resumed just last month at Edinburgh Airport, with two weekly services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the emergency landing, other departing flights from Edinburgh were delayed, and arriving flights were placed in a holding pattern until the runway was cleared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Edinburgh Airport spokesperson stated: “Our teams were alerted to an issue with the inbound Virgin Atlantic flight and, as a precaution, activated standard response procedures. The flight has landed and was met by emergency response vehicles. It has since exited the runway, and operations have resumed.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
