CHICAGO- <\/strong>United Airlines (UA)<\/a> has introduced a new daily seasonal direct flight from Athens International Airport (ATH) in Greece <\/a>to its primary hub at Chicago O\u2019Hare (ORD)<\/a>, expanding its flight offerings from Greece by over 30% for 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new service enhances United\u2019s existing routes from Greece, which were launched earlier this summer. These include a daily seasonal flight from Athens to New York\/Newark (EWR) <\/a>that started on March 31, and another to Washington Dulles (IAD)<\/a>, which began on April 15, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Chicago to Athens Flight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

37 Transatlantic Destinations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For the summer of 2024, United will operate direct flights to 37 transatlantic destinations, a record number that exceeds the combined offerings of all other U.S. airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United remains the only carrier providing direct U.S. flights to Dubrovnik, Malaga, Majorca, and Tenerife. Its summer 2024 schedule also includes new routes from Barcelona to San Francisco<\/a>, the return of the seasonal Reykjavik to New York\/Newark flight, and additional services from Rome and Brussels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, United has expanded its Malaga to New York\/Newark<\/a> summer seasonal service to weekdays and moved up the start date to May 3, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline has also advanced the restart of its popular seasonal routes from Nice, Lisbon, Barcelona, Rome, Milan, and Naples, providing passengers with more opportunities and flexibility to explore destinations across the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

United\u2019s new seasonal service between Athens and Chicago O\u2019Hare will be operated on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft<\/a>. This plane offers a range of seating options, including 28 lie-flat business class seats in United Polaris, 21 premium economy seats in United Premium Plus, 36 Economy Plus seats, and 158 standard economy seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dreamliner is equipped with features like large windows, ample overhead storage, and LED lighting that simulates a full day, all designed to enhance passenger comfort and help adjust their body clocks during the transatlantic journey. Additional benefits such as lower cabin pressure, cleaner air, and a smoother ride contribute to a more restful experience upon arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
