GURUGRAM-<\/strong> Tata-owned Indian FSC Air India (AI) <\/a>announced on May 23 that it will implement a salary increase of up to Rs 15,000 for pilots and an annual performance bonus of up to Rs 1.8 lakh, effective from April 1, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the official statement, the airline has increased salaries by Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000 per month for positions ranging from First Officer to Senior Commander. However, Junior First Officers will not receive a salary hike this appraisal season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Hikes Pilots Salary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The airline also introduced an annual bonus ranging from Rs 42,000 to Rs 1.8 lakh for positions from Junior First Officer to Senior Commander.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specifically, First Officers and Captains will receive an annual bonus of Rs 60,000, while Commanders and Senior Commanders will receive Rs 1.32 lakh and Rs 1.8 lakh, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Air India announced compensation for pilots <\/a>who have experienced significant delays in their ground and simulator training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Pilots who underwent command upgrade and conversion training from April 2023 to March 2024 and experienced delays due to valid organizational reasons will receive additional compensation for time spent in training beyond the guaranteed 40 hours of flying,” Air India stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The details will be communicated individually, and the payout will be included with the flying allowances for June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India\u00a0has also recently introduced Cabin Executive (CE) Plus, a cutting-edge iOS app tailored for its extensive team of\u00a0over 1,200 cabin executives<\/strong>\u00a0responsible for overseeing the cabin crew during flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This innovative app aims to personalize guest services, optimize crew assignments, and facilitate swift reporting of any cabin maintenance issues for prompt resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This app represents a significant milestone in the airline\u2019s commitment to elevating customer experience by equipping cabin executives with advanced digital solutions accessible via handheld devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developed collaboratively by Air India\u2019s digital technology and design teams based in Silicon Valley and Gurugram, in partnership with the in-flight services team, Cabin Executive Plus (CE Plus) integrates a range of functionalities into a single platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CE Plus will receive regular, exciting upgrades to further enhance the guest experience and empower cabin executives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Struggle at AIX<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On May 22, the Air India Express<\/a> union raised concerns about flight delays and cancellations, noting that the reduced number of departures is negatively affecting cabin crew salaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Air India Express Employees Union (AIXEU) also reported that over 100 cabin crew <\/a>members have been without flying duties for the past two months due to the unavailability of airport entry passes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 9, a cabin crew strike was called off following a meeting between union representatives and the airline, facilitated by the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) in the national capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
