Additionally, it was revealed that American Airlines would soon be the only carrier serving all 50 states in the U.S.

Starting on October 7, American, in partnership with The Landline Company (the bus operator), will offer six daily roundtrips between Philadelphia and Wilmington. The journey covers a short distance of 24.7 miles, taking approximately 50 minutes each way.

The route to Wilmington isn’t the only new bus service American Airlines will introduce this year. In August, American will launch a route from Philadelphia to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport (AVP).

According to AVP, this route will operate four times daily in each direction. A key advantage of this bus service is that passengers can clear security at AVP and be dropped off airside at Terminal F in Philadelphia.

The buses offer amenities similar to those on aircraft, including power outlets at every seat, onboard WiFi, and standard baggage handling. Passengers can also earn AAdvantage miles on these routes.

Joe Sottile, American Airlines Director of Domestic Network Planning, commented,

“We are excited to expand our innovative partnership with Landline to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. This new service, in addition to our existing routes from AVP to Charlotte and Chicago, will improve access to American’s global network, offering convenient one-stop service via our Philadelphia hub to over 100 destinations in the U.S. and around the world.”

Michael Sharer, Northeast operations lead at the Landline Co. stated,

“This service offers passengers a seamless, premium motorcoach connection for flights departing from Philadelphia.
