However, as per Boeing’s April order data, there are two Boeing 787-10s and 777X customers.

Furthermore, Eva Air reported that the cost of each aircraft will not exceed US$488 million.

I think Eva Air and Boeing will likely confirm the order at Farnborough Airshow which will take place on July 22-26, 2024.

According to Planespotters.net fleet data, a 35-year-old carrier operates a fleet of 86 aircraft. This includes 15 Boeing 787s of which 11 are 787-10 and 4 787-9 aircraft.

In March 2023, it revealed an order for five 787-9s, with deliveries starting in 2025.

Earlier this year, in January, the Star Alliance carrier confirmed orders for a total of 33 Airbus planes including 18 Airbus A350-1000s and 15 A321neos to replace its Boeing 777-300ERs and A321ceos, respectively.

Eva Air deploys its Boeing 787-10 fleet on high-intensity Asian routes such as Osaka, Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Bangkok. Further, it flies them on Trans-Pacific flights to the United States and Australia.

Subsequently, Star Alliance member deploys 787-9 on Asian and European routes, including Fukuoma, Shenzen, Milan, Munich, Vienna, and others.

Photo: Boeing

Boeing 787 and 777X Orders

As of April 2024, Boeing received 303 total orders for 787-10s, of these 100 have been delivered while 166 are unfilled orders.

Likewise, Boeing received around 485 total orders for the 777X passenger variant which includes 777-8 and 777-9, and net orders of 426 such types. American aerospace giant is yet to commence 777X entry into service and deliveries.

Overall Boeing is grappling with unprecedented challenges and problems due to a rise in incidents with narrowbody variants and issues with widebody planes.

Furthermore, Boeing recorded its lowest delivery of the month in April, the lowest in the last two years.

Stay tuned with us.
