SAN FRANCISCO-<\/strong> Following the collapse of a jet bridge at San Francisco International Airport (SFO)<\/a>, a significant ground incident occurred involving a commercial passenger aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft involved was an Airbus A321neo operated by Hawaiian Airlines (HA)<\/a>, which had recently arrived from Kahului Airport (OGG) in Maui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hawaiian A321 Damaged at San Francisco<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, the collapse occurred after all passengers had disembarked, with no reported injuries. However, the aircraft’s front left-hand door (door 1L) sustained considerable damage in the process. The incident occurred on May 2 and gained attention on social media platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft in question bears the registration N216HA and was newly delivered to Hawaiian Airlines in September 2018, according to data from ch-aviation.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is one of 18 Airbus A321neos in the airline’s fleet, with a capacity of up to 189 passengers in a two-class configuration – 16 in first class and 173 in economy class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With an average age of 5.4 years, these aircraft are regularly utilized on Hawaiian Airlines’ routes to the West Coast, typically ranging from 5 to 6 hours in duration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
