PETALING JAYA-<\/strong> A private marine exploration company headquartered in the United States has recently delivered a presentation to Malaysian authorities regarding a fresh search initiative for Malaysia Airlines (MH)<\/a> Flight MH370, which disappeared without a trace a decade ago following its departure from Kuala Lumpur (KUL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the Association for Families of the Passengers and Crew on board MH370 <\/a>Facebook page outlines, the proposed search operation operates under a “no find, no fee” framework. It was formally presented to the Transport Minister, senior officials from the ministry, and representatives from other governmental agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The post mentioned, “The minister and his team responded positively to the presentation,” indicating their receptiveness to the proposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are awaiting the completion of the necessary paperwork and signing a new contract.”<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Ocean Infinity, a US-based company, had conducted search operations in the Indian Ocean from 2017 to late 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In March 2024, the Texas-headquartered firm asserted that it had discovered fresh scientific evidence regarding the final whereabouts of MH370.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How does it vanish?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On March 8, 2014, MH370, with 227 passengers and 12 crew members onboard, vanished while traveling from Kuala Lumpur <\/a>to Beijing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the initial 40 minutes of Flight MH370, commanded by senior pilot Zaharie Ahmad Shah and first officer Fariq Hamid, everything seemed normal from the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, just moments after entering Vietnamese airspace, MH370 <\/strong>completely disappeared from radar, and all subsequent attempts to establish contact proved unsuccessful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite an extensive search effort spanning from the Indian Ocean off Australia\u2019s west coast to Central Asia, no trace was discovered of the Boeing 777<\/a> or the 227 passengers and 12 crew members who disappeared with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
