DUBAI-<\/strong> Emirates Airlines (EK)<\/a> has come a long way since its humble beginnings in March 1985. From a small fleet consisting of two Boeing 727s, one Boeing 737-300, and one Airbus A300, Emirates has grown to become one of the world’s largest and most prestigious airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a focus on innovation and excellence, Emirates <\/a>has continuously expanded its fleet to include some of the most advanced aircraft in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Humble Start and Rapid Growth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Emirates inaugurated its maiden flights in October 1985 by operating two wet-leased aircraft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) <\/a>leased two Emirates planes\u2014a Boeing 737 and an Airbus 300 B4. The inaugural flights departed for Karachi (KHI)<\/a>, Pakistan, and Mumbai (BOM)<\/a>, India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In July 1987, two years later, Emirates acquired its inaugural owned aircraft\u2014the A6-EKA, an Airbus A310-304. The A6-EKA aircraft of Emirates made its maiden flight from Toulouse (TLS) <\/a>to Dubai (DXB)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within a decade of its establishment, Emirates began introducing widebody aircraft such as the Airbus A330 and A340 into its fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
