BHUBANESHWAR-<\/strong> A Vistara Airlines (UK)<\/a> flight from Bhubaneshwar (BBI) to Delhi (DEL)<\/a> made an emergency landing today (May 1, 2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to initial reports, the windshield of the Vistara flight apparently incurred a crack during the hailstorm that swept through several areas of Odisha this afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vistara Emergency Landing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Confirming this occurrence, Prasanna Pradhan, the Director of Bhubaneswar Airport, stated that certain sections of the aircraft’s structure also sustained damage besides the windshield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vistara flight UK788 <\/strong>flight was operated by Airbus A320neo<\/a>, registered as VT-TQH<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The flight departed from Bhubaneswar around 1:45 pm, and after approximately 10 minutes, the aircraft requested priority assistance to return. The aircraft’s windshield developed a crack, along with some structural damage,” Pradhan stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the incident, the flight executed a safe landing without requiring any assistance. Reportedly, approximately 170 to 180 passengers were onboard, all of whom remained unharmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“All passengers are currently awaiting arrangements at the airport, and another flight is being organized for their transportation. The departure of the flight will be contingent upon completing the necessary repairs. The landing at the airport was routine,” Pradhan added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
