CHICAGO-<\/strong> United Airlines (UA) <\/a>has updated its flight schedule and added nonstop flights from Chicago (ORD)<\/a> to Delhi (DEL), India, from March 29, 2025, yes, next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chicago-based carrier plans to deploy Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft <\/a>to serve this high-intensity route. However, this is not the first time United has included this route in its schedule, and there is uncertainty over the commencement of service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Chicago to Delhi Flight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In December 2020, United Airlines operated its maiden flight between Chicago O’hare International Airport and Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi with 787-9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, following the rise in COVID-19 cases in India<\/a>, United temporarily halted ORD-DEL flights from May 31, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier in 2022, following the closure of Russian Airspace amid the Russia-Ukraine war, United halted two direct services from San Francisco (SFO)<\/a> to Delhi and Newark (EWR)<\/a> to Mumbai and has not resumed these flights. But it contained ORD-DEL and EWR-DEL flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023, United announced that it would halt ORD-DEL as it’s not viable for them to operate amid the extended Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The last flight from ORD to DEL was on January 29, 2023, touching down in Delhi on January 30, 2023. Conversely, the last flight from Delhi to Chicago departed on January 31, 2023, and arrived in Chicago on the same day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If United resumes ORD-DEL, it will be the second airline after Air India (AI)<\/a> to serve this route. Air India operates AI127, a daily flight from DEL to ORD, and AI126 from ORD to DEL with 777-300ERs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the airline announced the launch of one of the longest flights between San Francisco (SFO) and Bengaluru (BLR), two startup cities, but it has not yet commenced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight Schedule and Fare<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

United will operate the UA712 <\/strong>from ORD to DEL. The flight will take off from Chicago at 6:10 PM local time and arrive in Delhi at 8:25 PM local time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boeing 787 will fly for around 15 hours and 45 minutes to cover around 7472 miles (12,025 km) of distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The starting fare at the time of publication on April 28, 2024, was around US$3,937, including taxes. But it can get as low as $800.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Boeing 787 Configuration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Around 257 passengers can be accommodated on United Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Further, United 787 offers three class configurations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United Polaris business class includes 48 seats, each providing a sleeping space with a length of six and a half feet. Additionally, there are 21 Premium Plus seats, characterized by a reclining feature, offering 38 inches of pitch, six inches of recline, and 19 inches of width.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the economy cabin comprises 39 economy-plus seats offering extra legroom and 149 standard seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
