GURUGRAM-<\/strong> Thales Group<\/a>, a major French aerospace, defense, and cybersecurity company, is establishing an avionics Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) facility in Gurgaon by March next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The multinational plans to double the number of engineers based in India <\/a>within two years to meet the growing export demand for cybersecurity and aviation solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thales MRO in Gurgaon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThales is aiming to achieve certification for MRO by the end of the year, with operations expected to commence in the first quarter of 2025,\u201d says Pascale Sourisse, Senior Executive Vice President of International Development, Thales, and CEO of Thales International.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The French company states that avionics MROs can be set up away from airports since they do not require access to the runway. The company says that the MRO will provide maintenance for avionics systems, which will be dismantled from the aircraft and brought to the MRO for corrective actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company adds that the repaired equipment will then be returned to the aircraft and reinstalled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe proposed avionics MRO will offer a range of services, leveraging Thales’s extensive and recognized expertise in providing, maintaining, and upgrading avionics systems. These services will be crucial in supporting Indian airlines, including Air India and IndiGo, among others, ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of avionics in their aircraft,\u201d Pascale adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong Investment in India<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThales is investing multi-million Euros in establishing a Maintenance<\/a>, Repair, and Operations (MRO) facility in Gurgaon, India, to deliver world-class service efficiency to its airline customers,\u201d Pascale explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company plans to utilize India more extensively as a base to serve global markets in the cybersecurity and aviation sectors, as it anticipates a growth in global demand within this segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor avionics and cybersecurity, the vast majority of activities in India are focused on the global market. We offer cybersecurity packages, hardware security modules, financial transaction technology, and cloud-based data security solutions. We anticipate a significant growth in market demand, and we expect our team in India to play a critical role,\u201d Pascale explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
