Subsequent data indicates that a new flight was scheduled for later that morning but did not depart until the afternoon.

“We are arranging for an alternative aircraft to transport our customers to their intended destination,” United Airlines stated to ABC7 Chicago.

The replacement aircraft, a 29-year-old A320, departed O’Hare at 14:24 and arrived in Washington at 17:29, over eight hours behind schedule. No further information regarding the incident is currently available.

There has been a significant rise in incidents with United Airlines, and it is under FAA scrutiny.

In March 2024, the FAA announced plans to intensify its oversight of United Airlines in response to a series of recent incidents.

Two standout events involved Boeing aircraft: a 737 MAX 8 and a 777-300ER. The MAX 8 experienced a runway excursion at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), though no injuries were reported.

Additionally, the 777-300ER suffered a wheel loss shortly after departure from San Francisco International Airport (SFO). While the tire caused damage to several vehicles and a fence near the airport, no injuries occurred, and the aircraft diverted to Los Angeles International Airport (LAS).

Stay tuned with us.
