GURUGRAM-<\/strong> Tata-owned Air India (AI)<\/a>, which recently announced the launch of direct flights to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) in Vietnam<\/a>, will also launch new destinations in the US, Europe, and Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flights to Ho Chi Minh City<\/a> will begin in June, with services to other destinations like Manila (MNL), Seattle (SEA), Dallas (DFW)<\/a>, and London Gatwick (LGW) potentially launching later this year. In addition to these destinations, there are plans to increase flight frequencies to Europe<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India International Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

FE Sources indicate the airline intends to boost flight frequencies to Australia<\/a>, particularly on routes like Delhi-Sydney and Mumbai-Melbourne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, Air India initiated flights on new routes such as Bengaluru-Singapore<\/a>, Kochi-Doha, Kolkata-Bangkok, and Mumbai-Melbourne, expanding its international network by seven new destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of its Summer Schedule 2024, Air India has seen a year-on-year increase of over 4.59% in departures, totaling 2,278<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the airline’s international weekly departures have risen by over 5.1% compared to the previous year, amounting to 455.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ho Chi Minh City Flights<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Operating with its two-class configured Airbus A320neo aircraft,<\/a> Air India will offer flights on this new route at convenient timings five days a week, specifically on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new route will reinforce Air India\u2019s network of destinations in Southeast Asia, providing a fresh travel option for the growing number of passengers between India and Vietnam. Additionally, it will establish new connections for Vietnamese travelers to access Air India\u2019s extensive global route network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, this service will facilitate convenient one-stop connections to Vietnam <\/a>via Delhi for travelers originating from the U.S., Canada, UK, and Europe. This will help strengthen Air India\u2019s vision to make Delhi the Truly International and transit hub<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Google Flights data, the DEL-SGN route is served by Vietnamese carriers like Vietnam Airlines and VietJet. This will be the first time any Indian airline will serve this sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
