HAMBURG- <\/strong>The 400th Airbus <\/a>aircraft, an A321neo<\/a>, contributes to easyJet’s (U2)<\/a> fleet modernization and upscaling strategy, a key component of the airline’s path to achieving net zero emissions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following a ceremonial handover in Hamburg, the aircraft flew to easyJet’s Berlin base for preparation before commercial service, marking the airline’s 20th year in Germany and highlighting its partnership with Airbus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

easyJet and Airbus celebrated their enduring partnership of more than two decades today, as Airbus delivered the airline’s 400th aircraft, an Airbus A321neo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A handover ceremony occurred at Finkenwerder, Airbus’s manufacturing plant in Hamburg, producing the A320 <\/a>series. The newest addition to easyJet’s fleet features a unique livery design, incorporating the number 400 using miniature aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delivery flight from Hamburg-Finkenwerder to easyJet’s maintenance hangar at Berlin\/Brandenburg airport was fueled by a 5% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blend, marking easyJet’s first SAF-powered service from Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since receiving its first Airbus A320 family aircraft two decades ago<\/strong>, easyJet has become one of the world’s largest operators of Airbus single-aisle A320 family aircraft, with over 330 currently in operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expansion Plans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Benoit de Saint Exupery<\/strong>, Executive Vice President for Sales at Airbus’ Commercial Aircraft division, highlighted: “easyJet’s receipt of its 400th Airbus aircraft underscores its commitment to reducing fuel consumption and emissions with advanced aircraft technology. Over the past two decades, easyJet has consistently received an impressive average of 20 new Airbus aircraft annually since 2003.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This milestone, celebrated alongside easyJet’s 20th anniversary of operations in Germany, follows the airline’s recent confirmation of a substantial order for an additional 157 A320neo family aircraft. The order comprises 56 A320neo and 101 A321neo aircraft, including converting 35 A320neo orders into the larger A321neo variant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A320neo Family, with over 10,350 orders worldwide, is renowned for its operational improvements. Equipped with new-generation engines and Sharklets, it offers a 50% noise reduction during takeoff and landing, along with up to 15% fuel savings and CO2 reduction compared to previous models. easyJet’s 400th aircraft and future deliveries will feature standard enhancements like DPO and CDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
