DELHI-<\/strong> Air India (AI)<\/a> new and latest uniforms, crafted by Manish Malhotra<\/strong> for the A350 crew, are encountering fabric challenges. These uniforms, featuring a distinctive Jharokha pattern, Vista logo, and black suits for cockpit personnel, are set to be manufactured for over 8,000 cabin crew members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India is poised to begin production for its entire cabin crew, integrating the provided insights. Initially unveiled in December, these uniforms mark the airline’s collaboration with the Tata Group and signify a significant aesthetic update for Air India’s staff attire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Crew Uniforms Issues<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Initially, the uniforms were launched excitedly for the carrier’s A350 aircraft crew. Air India spokesperson stated on Monday that the production schedule for uniforms intended for all cabin crew members will commence in approximately one week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to two individuals familiar with the matter, certain issues are identified with the fabric utilized in the new uniforms, including rapid fading of color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another source mentioned that feedback regarding the uniforms will be carefully considered before initiating production for all crew members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Air India confirms that the sizing and production plan for our extensive cabin crew of over 8,000 members will kick off within the next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Following this, the new uniforms will be distributed to the crew members, coinciding with the transition of Air India’s flagship A350 to long-haul international operations in the upcoming months,” the spokesperson stated in a PTI <\/em>statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Designs <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In December, the airline stated that developing the new uniform designs was a collaborative effort involving close consultation with its cabin crew representatives and the airline’s in-flight services team. This collaboration also included an extensive testing exercise for the new designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Air India’s announcement in December, the female cabin crew attire showcases a ready-to-wear ombre saree adorned with intricate patterns reminiscent of Indian heritage architecture, such as the jharokha, and featuring the Vista (new Air India logo icon). A comfortable blouse and blazer complement this saree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, the airline highlighted in December that the uniform for the cockpit crew comprises a classic black double-breasted suit. The suit incorporates a print inspired by the Vista, symbolizing professionalism, timelessness, and the esteemed nature of the flying profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
