BLAGNAC-<\/strong> Airbus<\/a>, the European aircraft manufacturer, has unveiled its order and delivery statistics for the year’s initial quarter. Airbus surpassed 140 aircraft deliveries during this timeframe, which is starkly contrasting with Boeing<\/a>, which saw only double-digit deliveries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amidst ongoing challenges with its 737 MAX aircraft, Boeing is embroiled in a profound crisis, endeavoring to narrow the gap with its transatlantic competitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airbus Delivers 142 Aircraft <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Airbus Concludes Q1 2024 with 142 Aircraft Delivered to 45 Customers. In March alone, Airbus saw a surge in deliveries, providing 63 planes to 32 customers, contributing significantly to the quarterly total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The majority of Q1 deliveries were narrowbody aircraft, totaling 128 units. Among these were 54 A320neo planes, 62 A321neos, along with 11 A220-300s and one A220-100. Additionally, Airbus delivered 14 widebody aircraft, evenly divided between the A330 and A350 models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customers spanned the globe, with airlines such as Delta Air Lines (DL), Wizz Air (W6)<\/a>, British Airways (BA)<\/a>, Condor, IndiGo (6E)<\/a>, Cebu Pacific, Vistara (UK)<\/a>, Turkish Airlines, Flynas, and many others receiving Airbus planes throughout the first quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airbus experienced a surge in new aircraft orders in the year’s initial quarter, primarily concentrated in March. The company secured a total of 170 net orders, comprising 96 for narrowbody planes and 74 for widebody aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A closer look at the order distribution by month reveals notable transactions. Delta Air Lines ordered 20 A350s in January, while Ethiopian Airlines (ET)<\/a> ordered 11 A350s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

February saw an undisclosed customer ordering two additional A350s. March witnessed a flurry of orders from various airlines, notably led by American Airlines, which placed an order for 85 A321neos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airbus Surpasses Boeing in New Aircraft Orders<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Boeing, Airbus’ American counterpart, has unveiled its first-quarter delivery results. In contrast to Airbus, Boeing’s deliveries remained double-digit, with the company handing over 83 commercial airplanes\u2014just over half of Airbus’ total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This marks a significant decline from the 130 aircraft delivered during the same period last year, representing a 36% decrease. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite ongoing challenges with its 737 MAX program, Boeing’s 67 deliveries of this model made it the most delivered aircraft in the first three months. The remaining deliveries included 3 Boeing 767s and 13 787 Dreamliners, all widebodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
