ROME- <\/strong>Just a week following the disclosure of its 2023 financial statements, ITA Airways (AZ)<\/a> continues its growth trajectory by welcoming four new-generation Airbus <\/a>aircraft into its fleet within a single week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This addition brings the total number of NewGen aircraft to 44 out of a fleet comprising 87 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company swiftly integrated the new aircraft into service during the last week of March, making them available for operations within a day of being registered in the Company’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This achievement was made possible through the combined efforts of ITA Airways personnel and the active collaboration of ENAC and other regulatory authorities involved in the authorization processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In more detail, the four newly incorporated aircraft, representing four distinct categories, include an A330-900<\/a> owned by ITA Airways, an A321neo<\/a>, an A320neo<\/a>, and an A220-100<\/a>, with the latter three being leased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Executive Remarks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

“Our strategy emphasizes investment in our fleet, which has expanded by over 60% since our inception,” stated Francesco Presicce, Accountable Manager & Chief Technology Officer of ITA Airways. “Today, we are delighted to introduce four new-generation Airbus aircraft into service within one week. This accomplishment is a testament to our commitment to swift and efficient integration of newly acquired aircraft while ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Achieving this milestone underscores our ambitious goals and strategic decision-making prowess.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Reducing the average age of our aircraft from 12.5 to 8.4 years in just over two years, with over 50% being the latest generation Airbus models, highlights the success of our Entry Into Service activities. This reaffirms our confidence in our trajectory,” Presicce added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“For 2024, our target is to introduce 26 new aircraft into our fleet, bringing the total to 96 by year-end. Notably, 67% of these will belong to the new generation, surpassing twice the average of new-generation Airbus aircraft in the fleets of other European <\/a>carriers, currently standing at 32%.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

“ITA Airways is actively equipping its next-generation fleet with cutting-edge technology and onboard Wi-Fi to enhance efficiency and service quality while significantly reducing environmental impact,” Presicce continued. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“By the end of our 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, we aim to have approximately 90% of our fleet environmentally friendly, consuming 25% less fuel, and emitting fewer CO\u2082 emissions, with the ambition of becoming Europe’s most eco-friendly carrier.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
