SINGAPORE-<\/strong> A Singapore Airlines (SQ)<\/a> flight operated by Airbus A380 returned to Sydney (SYD) <\/a>approximately an hour after departure on Sunday (Apr 7) due to a technical problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SIA flight SQ232 was initially scheduled to take off at 11 am local time and reach Singapore by 5:30 pm, as the flight tracking website flightradar24 indicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singapore Airlines A380 Emergency Landing at Sydney<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

“The Airbus A380 aircraft safely touched down back in Sydney at 12:42 pm local time,” stated an SIA spokesperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the resolution of the technical issue on the ground in Sydney, the aircraft resumed its journey to Singapore at 4:19 pm, as confirmed by the SIA spokesperson. The aircraft landed in Singapore at 10:24 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“SIA extends its sincere apologies to all affected passengers for any inconvenience caused,” the spokesperson reiterated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The safety of our passengers and crew always remains our utmost priority.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft involved in the incident is Airbus A380-841, registered as 9V-SKM. Further, as Planespotters.net data shows, the aircraft, which is powered by Rolls Royce engines, is around 13 years old and 8 months old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another A380 Incident<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Last Month, while departing from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), a Lufthansa (LH)<\/a> Airbus A380 bound for Munich (MUC) encountered wake turbulence shortly after another A380 <\/a>had taken off moments earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Viewers tuning into the livestream of L.A FLIGHTS were treated to a captivating sight as the Emirates (EK)<\/a> flight departed nearly three hours behind schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Against the backdrop of a sunset, two super heavy A380 aircraft were required to depart consecutively from runway 7R at Los Angeles (LAX)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Emirates A380 (registration A6-EVF) received clearance for takeoff to Dubai and commenced departure at 19:20 PDT for flight EK216.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Merely 2 minutes later, the Lufthansa A380 (registration D-AIMK) initiated its departure to Munich for flight LH453, utilizing the same runway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
