STRATFORD-<\/strong> The Greek government has officially initiated the procurement of 35 UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters from Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, through the U.S. government Foreign Military Sale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This signing of the Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) underscores Greece’s <\/a>commitment to modernizing its defense capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Greece Orders UH-60M Black Hawk <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Paul Lemmo, president of Sikorsky, emphasized the significance of this acquisition, stating that the state-of-the-art UH-60M Black Hawk will bolster the Hellenic Ministry of Defense’s modernization efforts and be a reliable asset for critical national and allied security operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a track record of trust across more than 35 nations, including an increasing number of NATO <\/a>allies, the versatile Black Hawk helicopter offers unparalleled global interoperability, enhancing Greece’s deterrence capabilities alongside those of NATO member countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Included in the procurement are not only the aircraft themselves but also comprehensive personnel training and training equipment, ensuring seamless integration of the UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters into the operations of the Hellenic Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Costas Papadopoulos, the international business development director for Greece at Lockheed Martin, expressed pride in the expansion of their partnership with the Hellenic Armed Forces through the acquisition of the UH-60M Black Hawk, which will augment Greece’s military capabilities across various missions in the modern security landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Greece already operating an S-70B fleet and recently acquiring MH-60R maritime helicopters for the Hellenic Navy, the addition of the UH-60M Black Hawk expands the nation’s Hawk family variants, leveraging the benefits of operational and sustainment commonality across the fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UH-60M\/S-70M Black Hawk is the preferred choice for replacing aging medium-lift utility helicopter fleets, offering enhanced flexibility for a wide range of missions, extended operational ranges, robust performance in challenging environments, and superior survivability compared to other aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
