BANGKOK-<\/strong> A Hong Kong Airlines (HX)<\/a> flight traveling from Bangkok (BKK)<\/a> to the Asian financial hub was compelled to return to the Thai capital due to a “technical issue” encountered shortly after take-off on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight HX780 was slated to depart Bangkok for Hong Kong around 2 a.m. local time, carrying over 200 passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hong Kong Airlines Emergency<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Based on information from flight tracking platforms, the Airbus A330-300 twin-jet aircraft<\/a> circled the airspace shortly after take-off at approximately 2:25 a.m. before ultimately redirecting back to Suvarnabhumi Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hong Kong Airlines stated that the flight encountered a “technical issue” shortly after take-off but did not provide further details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In adherence to safety protocols, the flight promptly returned to Bangkok airport and landed safely, with no injuries reported among passengers,” the airline affirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline mentioned that it was arranging same-day flights back to Hong Kong for the affected passengers. Additionally, hotel accommodations were provided for passengers awaiting their flights. “We appreciate the passengers’ understanding,” the statement continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hong Kong Airlines noted that the incident had been reported to the appropriate authorities per standard procedures and apologized for any inconvenience caused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the Airport Authority Hong Kong, the flight was anticipated to arrive at 10:30 p.m., which is over 16 hours later than its initially scheduled arrival time of 5:55 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn the morning of December 1, we received information that an Aeroflot Boeing 777 aircraft, which had departed from Moscow, was preparing for an emergency landing at the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport,\u201d the statement conveyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft landed at the city\u2019s air harbor at 9:34 a.m. (1:34 a.m. Moscow time) without incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the press service of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport, the incident involved a Boeing 777. Technicians have identified and are currently addressing the technical issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aeroflot emphasized that the landing proceeded smoothly, adhering to safety protocols. The electronic display at the air harbor indicates that the return flight from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to Moscow is scheduled for Friday at 17:00 (9:00 Moscow time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report notes, \u201cThe Boeing 777 had a total of 14 crew members and 408 passengers on board. After landing, the aircraft autonomously vacated the runway using the taxiway and was subsequently towed to the parking area.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
