AHMEDABAD-<\/strong> SpiceJet (SG) <\/a>has finalized agreements for two Airbus A320-200s<\/a> on an ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) basis for the IATA 2024 northern summer season, running from March 31 to October 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this month, it was reported that SpiceJet would wet-lease two A340s for its 2024 Hajj flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SpiceJet Leased A320s on Ahmedabad Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to data on ch-aviation<\/em> schedules, one of the aircraft will service a route between Ahmedabad<\/a>, Goa Mopa, Ayodhya International, and Dubai International six days a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the second A320 will operate a route from Ahmedabad to Chennai, Hyderabad International, Varanasi, and back, four days a week, and a modified route from Ahmedabad to Chennai, Hyderabad, Ayodhya, and back, three days a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SpiceJet operates various aircraft for domestic short-haul flights, including wet-leased planes and twenty-two DHC-8-Q400s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an all-Boeing operator, it manages a fleet that includes five Boeing 737-700s, eight 737-8s (with three leased in), fourteen B737-800s (with five leased in), three B737-900ERs, and three B737-700(BDSF)s. However, according to ch-aviation’s fleets module, 29 fleet aircraft are inactive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Settlement with Lessors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

SpiceJet announced to the Bombay Stock Exchange on March 26 that it had settled with Export Development Canada (EDC) to gain full ownership of thirteen DHC-8-Q400s previously financed by ADC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This settlement, the largest for SpiceJet thus far, clears liabilities amounting to nearly USD91 million associated with a 2011 loan that facilitated the acquisition of 15 of these turboprops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This agreement brings significant long-term savings for SpiceJet, relieving the airline from the burden of monthly rentals for these aircraft,” stated Ajay Singh, the airline’s managing director. “With twelve of these Q400s currently grounded, refurbishing and returning them to service will swiftly enable SpiceJet to inaugurate flights on numerous regional and UDAN routes.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
