AUSTRALIA-<\/strong> The pilots of a Qantas Airways (QF) <\/a>flight took the precautionary measure of shutting down one of the aircraft’s two engines following an issue during approach to Perth (PER) on Monday night. However, the Airbus plane landed safely, as confirmed by the airline to Reuters on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Australia’s largest airline representative stated that the Airbus A330-200 aircraft<\/a> requested a priority landing and taxied to the gate autonomously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas Airbus Mid-Flight Incident<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Australian media reported that passengers aboard the Melbourne to Perth flight mentioned hearing a loud noise or bang originating from one side of the aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas stated that their engineers are currently inspecting the aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We acknowledge that this experience may have caused concern for our passengers, and we appreciate their cooperation and understanding,” Qantas expressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While engine failures are infrequent, twin-engine planes are engineered to operate on a single engine, with pilots undergoing training for such scenarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to aviation intelligence provider ch-aviation<\/em>, the twin-aisle aircraft is 21 years old. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
