SEOUL- <\/strong>Korean Air (KE)<\/a> is set to enhance its international services for the upcoming summer season of 2024, commencing on March 31st. The airline will reintroduce services to four destinations across China, Europe<\/a>, and Southeast Asia and boost flight frequencies on key routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, according to a report by Bloomberg News <\/em>on Monday, the largest airline in South Korea is reportedly considering the order of approximately 20 A350 jets from Airbus<\/a>. This move comes as the airline prepares for an impending merger with Asiana Airlines (OZ)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Korean Air International Flights for Summer 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This expansion initiative aims to restore the airline’s international capacity to nearly 96% of its pre-pandemic levels, as measured by available seat kilometers (ASK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Restarting services to Europe, China, and Southeast Asia<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Starting April 2, the airline will reintroduce three weekly flights between Seoul Incheon and Zurich to meet the high demand for this sought-after summer destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From April 23, Korean Air plans to resume three weekly flights on the Seoul Incheon-Zhangjiajie route, renowned for its UNESCO World Natural Heritage site status and its association with the fictional world of Pandora from the movie “Avatar.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, on April 24, Korean Air will recommence its Seoul Incheon-Zhengzhou services, operating four flights per week. Zhengzhou is a popular tourist spot in China known for Taihangshan, often dubbed the “Grand Canyon of China<\/a>.” Visitors can explore Songshan, one of China’s Five Great Mountains, and visit Shaolin Temple, regarded as the birthplace of Kung Fu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the airline will resume daily flights on the Busan-Bangkok route on April 25, marking the end of nearly four years of suspension due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boosting flight frequencies on key routes<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In light of escalating demand, Korean Air will ramp up flight frequencies on popular routes across Europe, Southeast Asia, and North America. The Seoul Incheon-Budapest route will see an increase from three to four weekly flights. Budapest, renowned as a tourist hotspot and a hub for battery and automotive component manufacturing companies, attracts significant traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, the Seoul Incheon-Bangkok route will transition from three to four daily flights, while the Seoul Incheon-Manila route will escalate from two to three daily flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since January, the airline has introduced two additional frequencies on the Seoul Incheon-Bali route, providing eleven weekly flights offering passengers enhanced flexibility and options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In North America, Korean Air will augment services on the Seoul Incheon-Dallas route from four flights per week to daily flights. This move aims to enhance connectivity for passengers traveling to and from the vibrant city, serving as a gateway to the south-central United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Korean Air will remain vigilant, closely monitoring seasonal fluctuations that impact demand across its extensive global network, aiming to optimize schedules and elevate the overall customer experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Korean Air has received approval from competition regulators in 13 out of 14 jurisdictions for acquiring approximately two-thirds of Asiana at a price of approximately $1.4 billion. The merger is pending a decision from U.S. authorities to be completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
