DELHI-<\/b> The Delhi High Court postponed the contempt petition hearing brought by aircraft lessors against the Resolution Professional (RP)<\/strong> of a grounded airline Go First <\/a>to April 5, as of March 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the HC instructed the RP to submit a response to its show cause notice, questioning why contempt of court proceedings shouldn’t be initiated against him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go First Plea Postponed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The court issued this notice following allegations from the lessors that the RP failed to adhere to its directives regarding the maintenance of the aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the hearing, senior advocate Neeraj Kishan Kaul, representing the RP, informed the court about the established procedures for aircraft maintenance. Kaul encouraged lessors to communicate with the RP to address any concerns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite Kaul’s explanations that the RP had not deliberately violated the court’s order, Justice Tara Vitasta Ganju insisted that the RP file an affidavit within two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 7, the RP agreed to transfer aircraft maintenance responsibilities to the lessor. The lessor requested time to respond to this proposal but informed the court today that the RP had communicated this late the previous evening, requiring additional time to consider it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1,600 Crore Revival Plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In an effort to address the financial difficulties faced by Go First Airlines, SpiceJet\u2019s (SG)<\/a> CMD Ajay Singh and Busy Bee Airways, primarily owned by EaseMyTrip CEO Nishant Pitti, have introduced a rescue plan involving a comprehensive infusion of Rs 1,600 crore into the struggling airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sources reported by CNBC-TV18<\/em> indicate that the consortium has presented a proposal encompassing the acquisition of Go First for Rs 1,000 crore, supported by collateral and a corporate guarantee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Singh and Pitti have suggested an additional investment of Rs 600 crore to facilitate the restart of Go First\u2019s operations specifically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singh and Pitti\u2019s group competes with Sky One, the other bidder for Go First, in the ongoing voluntary insolvency resolution proceedings. Based in Sharjah, Sky One primarily engages in chartered helicopter and cargo services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
