LOS ANGELES-<\/strong> A United Airlines (UA)<\/a> flight originating from San Francisco (SFO) <\/a>was compelled to execute an emergency landing in Los Angeles (LAX)<\/a> on Friday evening due to complications with the aircraft’s hydraulic system, as per airline authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This incident marked the fourth flight emergency for the airline in the same week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United SFO to Mexico Flight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

United Flight 821, en route from San Francisco International Airport to Mexico City International Airport (MEX)<\/a>, took off around 1 p.m. local time with 105 passengers and five crew members. The diversion to Los Angeles International Airport occurred due to an issue with the aircraft’s hydraulic system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Airbus 320 aircraft landed safely, and passengers disembarked at the gate without any complications, as stated in the official statement. The airline assured that customers would resume their journey to Mexico City on a new aircraft, scheduled to depart later on Friday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting the aircraft’s redundancy measures, the statement emphasized that it has three hydraulic systems, and the preliminary information indicates that the issue was confined to just one of these systems on the particular aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Series of Incidents<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Friday morning witnessed United Flight 2477<\/strong> from Memphis, Tennessee, with 160 passengers and six crew members, veering off the runway and onto the grass shortly after landing at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Passengers had to disembark using airstairs on the open runway, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This incident followed more dramatic issues with another flight departing from San Francisco on Thursday. A United jet destined for Osaka, Japan, experienced a tire loss during takeoff from San Francisco International Airport<\/a>. The incident occurred at approximately 11:35 a.m. when United Flight 35<\/strong> encountered trouble with its landing gear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Video footage captured the tire falling from the jet’s landing gear, landing in an employee parking lot at the airport, and causing damage to two vehicles, with one vehicle being crushed. Despite the mishap, the flight safely landed at Los Angeles International Airport around 1:20 p.m., carrying a total of 249 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A United Airlines spokesperson assured the public that the Boeing 777-200<\/a>, equipped with six tires on each of its two main landing gear struts, is designed to land safely even with missing or damaged tires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier in the week, on Monday, United Flight 1118,<\/strong> bound for Fort Myers, Florida, had to return to Bush Intercontinental Airport after an engine fire shortly after takeoff. An investigation revealed that bubble wrap had been sucked into the engine, leading to the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
