CHICAGO-<\/strong> Today, United Airlines (UA) <\/a>has unveiled plans to expand its extensive global route network by introducing new non-stop flights connecting New York\/Newark to Marrakesh, Morocco; Tokyo\/Narita to Cebu, Philippines; and Houston to Medellin, Colombia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will also ramp up its service to well-loved destinations worldwide, including Hong Kong, Seoul, South Korea, and Porto, Portugal. Additionally, in response to the recent agreement between the Chinese and U.S. governments, United will increase its flights between Los Angeles and Shanghai with four additional weekly flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Announce 3 New Destinations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With the broadest and most diversified international route network among U.S. carriers, United now provides non-stop service to 134 international destinations spanning 67 countries. United surpasses all other U.S. airlines combined in offering flights to many destinations across the Atlantic and Pacific.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While serving popular international hubs, United continues to lead the way in introducing passengers to unique and less-traveled locations globally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This includes flights to nine destinations not served by any other carriers from the mainland U.S., such as Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Christchurch, New Zealand<\/a>; Dubrovnik, Croatia, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1) New York\/Newark-Marrakesh, Morocco<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Starting October 24, United will establish itself as the airline with the most extensive flights to diverse African destinations from the New York <\/a>metropolitan area. Additionally, United will be the sole carrier offering direct connectivity between the U.S. and Marrakesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This three-times-weekly service from New York\/Newark will be operated using a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft<\/a>, featuring 46 United Polaris\u00ae business class seats and 22 United Premium Plus\u00ae seats, providing travelers with enhanced travel choices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new route contributes to United’s growing presence in Africa, complementing its existing services to Accra, Ghana; Lagos, Nigeria; and Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2) Tokyo\/Narita-Cebu, Philippines<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

United is strengthening its foothold in the Philippines by introducing year-round, non-stop service from Tokyo-Narita, beginning July 31. This daily service to Cebu will be exclusively provided by United, utilizing 737-800 aircraft<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flights from San Francisco<\/a>, Los Angeles, Denver, Newark-New York, and Houston <\/a>to Tokyo-Narita will facilitate seamless connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United remains the sole U.S. carrier offering transpacific service to the Philippines, with daily flights connecting San Francisco and Manila and flights from Guam and Palau to Manila.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3) Houston-Medellin, Colombia<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

United is breaking new ground by introducing non-stop daily flights to Medellin, Colombia, departing from Houston on Boeing 737 aircraft, commencing October 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This marks United’s inaugural direct service to Medellin and enhances the airline’s footprint in Colombia, supplementing existing routes from Houston and Newark <\/a>to Bogota. United is set to serve 52 destinations across Latin America from Houston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UA’s 2024 International Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the newly introduced service, United is set to extend its global reach by increasing flights to various destinations this year. The airline is actively restoring its mainland China schedule, with four weekly flights from Shanghai to Los Angeles on a Boeing 787-9<\/a>, commencing on August 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, this service is slated to transition to daily operations in late October, contributing to United’s existing daily flights between San Francisco and both Shanghai and Beijing. This expanded service is made possible by the bilateral agreement between the U.S. and China <\/a>to augment flights connecting the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United also enhances its flight offerings to Hong Kong and Seoul, South Korea. On October 26, the airline will introduce a second daily flight from Los Angeles to Hong Kong<\/a>, utilizing a Boeing 787-9 aircraft. It will complement its existing two daily flights from San Francisco to Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, starting on October 25, United will provide year-round, twice-daily flights between San Francisco and Seoul. Additionally, the airline recently expanded its Tokyo service by adding a new route between Haneda and Guam, which commenced in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Across the Atlantic, United is introducing a second daily flight between New York\/Newark and Porto, Portugal, utilizing a Boeing 757-200, starting May 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United holds a prominent position with more flights to Portugal than all other U.S. carriers combined and remains Porto’s sole U.S. carrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
