PERTH-<\/strong> At Perth Airport (PER), two Qantas (QF)<\/a> Boeing 737s collided <\/a>when a flight from Canberra (CBR), approaching the gate just after 9 pm on Sunday, clipped the wing of a stationary plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a released statement, Qantas explained that the moving plane’s wingtip made contact with the wingtip of the stationary aircraft, causing a jolt felt by customers and crew who were disembarking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas 737s Collided at Perth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

“Following a thorough assessment, the captain instructed customers to proceed with disembarkation as usual. Both aircraft are currently under inspection by engineers, and an investigation is underway,” the statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A passenger on the flight reported that the pilot communicated to the cabin that one of the planes had mistakenly followed an incorrect path to the terminal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both aircraft involved were Boeing 737-800s<\/a>. One had arrived from Brisbane (BNE), while the other had just completed its journey from Canberra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the customers or crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similar Incident<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Last year, a United Airlines (UA)<\/a> flight operating a Boeing<\/a> 737 MAX wing clipped the tail of Delta Air Lines (DL)<\/a> Airbus<\/a> A321 at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred around 7:20 pm local time during the United plane\u2019s taxi to a holding pad. Subsequently, contact with the Delta flight’s tail was confirmed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)<\/a>. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in the collision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eyewitness Alex Wilson, a passenger aboard the Delta flight awaiting takeoff, described feeling the plane sway back and forth for a few seconds. Although the cause of the incident was initially unclear, Wilson likened the experience to a brief earthquake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minutes later, he noticed the presence of emergency vehicles outside the aircraft, and the pilot subsequently addressed the passengers, explaining that their plane had been struck from behind by another aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Videos recorded by Wilson captured the scene inside the plane, revealing emergency trucks and personnel surrounding the affected aircraft. In another video, the United Airlines plane en route to Newark can be seen being towed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the incident, Wilson\u2019s Delta flight, destined for Detroit, was eventually towed back to its original gate, causing delays for passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
