The travel-oriented publication highlighted that the innovative approach to selling Qantas lounge access<\/a> presents an effective strategy to engage the younger generation, accustomed to paying for subscription services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, as outlined in the survey, subscription memberships will be restricted to Qantas’ proprietary lounge network. Access to ‘partner’ lounges at international airports where Qantas lacks a presence is not part of the package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, certain broader perks will be excluded, such as bringing in a guest, a higher checked baggage allowance, and the ability to utilize Qantas Points for last-minute ‘on departure’ business class upgrades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This strategic move could be interpreted as a response to the competition posed by the Virgin Australia Lounge membership program, which is priced at a fixed AU$399 per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, Virgin’s program accommodates one adult guest and three children, making it more family-friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
