SINGAPORE-<\/strong> Dubai-based Emirates (EK)<\/a>, known for its grand scale initiatives as the world’s largest operator of the Airbus A380 jumbo aircraft<\/a>, is embarking on a significant recruitment drive for Aircraft Technicians and Engineers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a global need for 600 aircraft engineers <\/strong>to maintain its expansive fleet, Emirates is set to seek new talent in Singapore <\/a>during the Singapore Airshow 2024 at the Changi Exhibition Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emirates Hiring Aircraft Technicians and Engineers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Emirates has announced that the recruitment exhibition will take place on Tuesday, February 20, and Wednesday, February 21. Engineers interested in joining can register online for an invitation to the roadshow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline is specifically looking to hire aircraft technicians, licensed aircraft engineers, and engineering support, with all positions based in Dubai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a substantial investment, Emirates is allocating $950 million<\/strong> to construct a state-of-the-art engineering facility at Dubai World Central<\/a>. This facility is poised to become one of the largest and most advanced maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) centers globally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new center aims to be a Center of Excellence for commercial aviation engineering services in the Middle East and may potentially provide spare capacity to other airline operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Executive Remarks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rashed Alfajeer, Emirates’ Country Manager for Singapore and Brunei, highlighted the rewarding career opportunities for engineers at Emirates, emphasizing their involvement with the world’s largest widebody aircraft, such as the Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s. He also mentioned the upcoming addition of A350s <\/a>and 777Xs to the fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alfajeer emphasized the promising prospects for engineering teams at the new facility, describing it as one of the largest and most advanced in commercial aviation. The facility is set to facilitate groundbreaking work, fostering technological advancements and innovations in aircraft engineering services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The anticipated completion of the Emirates Engineering facility is in 2027, covering a vast one million square meters. It aims to support the Emirates fleet and operational requirements well into the 2040s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engineers recruited in Singapore will play a central role in the facility’s success, engaging in diverse tasks such as routine aircraft checks, custom paint jobs, light to heavy maintenance programs, engine repair and testing, cabin interior fit-outs, and aircraft conversions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, the airline will conduct such a drive in Malaysia on 23-24 Feb 2024. Subsequently, the airline will travel across the world in Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, and South America to hire more engineering talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Role Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Providing additional insights, Emirates specified that prospective Licensed Aircraft Engineers should possess experience and expertise in base maintenance, line maintenance, and overhaul workshops. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The available positions involve undertaking routine servicing and extensive heavy maintenance work on Emirates’ A380s and Boeing 777s<\/a>, as well as aircraft from other international carriers. Emirates Engineering holds third-party maintenance contracts with 30 other airlines, broadening the scope of responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aircraft technicians, operating under the guidance of licensed aircraft engineers, carry out maintenance tasks on both Emirates and third-party aircraft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Successful candidates for this role are required to have completed an approved apprenticeship in commercial aircraft maintenance or an equivalent qualification, along with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emirates is actively seeking individuals to fill engineering support roles in Dubai. These positions encompass a range of tasks, spanning production planning, materials management, and quality assurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
