SHANGHAI-<\/strong> China Eastern Airlines (MU) <\/a>is intensifying its efforts to introduce new international routes and resume existing ones. Anticipated shifts and developments are on the horizon for this year’s Spring Festival travel rush in China<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, the airline inaugurated the Beijing Daxing-Kuala Lumpur route and reinstated the Shanghai Pudong-Cairns, Australia <\/a>route. Additionally, it plans to introduce 15 new international routes, including a Pudong-Perth route, and enhance the frequency of flights between Pudong and Sydney, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Male routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China Eastern Airlines New Routes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To meet the surge in travel demand during the Spring Festival travel rush, China Eastern Airlines will increase its investment in Southeast Asian island destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With increased flights to Southeast Asia, a higher number of passengers from Southeast Asian nations are expected to travel to or transit through China during the festival period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the 40-day Spring Festival travel rush, China Eastern Airlines (CEA) aims to operate 2,322 round-trip flights connecting domestic airports with Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recently inaugurated Beijing Daxing-Kuala Lumpur route, designated as MU795\/796, offers four round-trip flights per week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, CEA serves Kuala Lumpur through four routes: Shanghai Pudong to Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai Pudong to Sabah, Hangzhou to Kuala Lumpur, and Beijing Daxing to Kuala Lumpur. A total of 340 round-trip flights are planned for these routes during this year’s Spring Festival travel rush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, CEA will introduce new direct routes from Kunming, Xi’an, Chengdu, and more to Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important Trade and Leisure Routes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In Singapore<\/a>, China Eastern Airlines (CEA) manages 8 routes, connecting to Shanghai Pudong, Beijing Daxing, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Kunming, and other destinations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Thailand, the airline provides direct flights to Shanghai, Kunming, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xi’an, and 5 additional locations. For this year’s Spring Festival travel rush, the daily flight count will be increased to 66.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from Southeast Asia, Australia has gained popularity as a winter destination owing to its pleasant climate. The recently resumed direct flight route from Shanghai Pudong to Cairns, Australia, marks the 9th route operated by CEA between China and Australia. Operating seasonally from Feb. 1 to Feb. 18, the flights are available every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Australia, CEA services flights to five destinations, namely Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Cairns. With the expansion of routes, CEA aims to enhance convenience for personnel and promote trade exchanges between China and Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
