GURGAON-<\/strong> On Friday (Feb 2, 2024), Indian low-cost carrier SpiceJet (SG)<\/a> announced that it has obtained flight rights for Hajj <\/a>operations from seven Indian cities, namely Srinagar, Gaya, Guwahati, Bhopal, Indore, Aurangabad, and Vijayawada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline’s spokesperson mentioned that in the present fiscal year, SpiceJet generated a revenue of Rs 337 crore<\/strong> from Haj operations, conducting flights from five Indian cities. For the current year, the airline expects even greater revenue from its Hajj operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SpiceJet Hajj Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The initiation of the initial phase of Hajj operations is slated for May 9, with flights headed to Medina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“SpiceJet is preparing to guarantee a seamless and comfortable travel experience for Hajj pilgrims from the designated cities. Last year, the airline introduced three wide-body aircraft exclusively dedicated to Hajj operations. This year, the airline plans to continue this initiative, with a specific focus on enhancing services for flights originating from Srinagar,” stated the spokesperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are thrilled to have secured flight rights for Hajj operations from seven prominent Indian cities. Hajj holds immense significance for SpiceJet, and we are dedicated to delivering top-notch services for the pilgrims,” expressed Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of SpiceJet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are committed to ensuring a smooth and trouble-free travel <\/a>experience for all our passengers. We eagerly anticipate serving the Haj pilgrims and contributing to their sacred journey,” added Singh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayodhya Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Recently, the Gurgaon-based carrier launched flights to Ayodhya <\/a>from Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Patna, Darbhanga, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya last week, the city has witnessed a substantial influx of pilgrims, with approximately 5 lakh people paying their respects at the religious site on the very first day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline plans to deploy its 189-seater Boeing 737 aircraft<\/a> on these routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
